Neckpiece: Rough Aquamarine

Aquamarine means seawater and the inspiration for this piece came from the Cape's two oceans. These rough Aquamarine stones have been strung with a solid 18ct yellow gold flower pendent. Each stone was handpicked and personally selected by the jeweller. The pendent was inspired by the collection of pods from the famous Kirstenbosch Botanical gardens - bringing both plant and marine life together.

THE ARTIST: Shelley Robertson

Shelley creates feminine, in-vogue, unique jewellery in her workshop in Cape Town¹s trendy Wynberg Chelsea. She believes jewellery makes a statement and, therefore, should be worn, shown-off and enjoyed. Specifically-selected, traditional precious metals and stones embrace an appreciation of the city¹s indigenous flora. With an emphasis on colour and texture, the surprise is in the detail.
