Part of the alliance between The Last Word, its creators, customers and those endangered is an alignment with the Wilderness Foundation since they are primarily concerned with the conservation of wild lands, protecting areas where nature and humanity is threatened.

For now, no trusts exist to preserve survival of the small endangered but since their main threat is shrinking habitat as a result of encroachment, we believe Wilderness can influence understanding and awareness which will take the first steps to environmental sustainability.

We believe ignorance is the enemy and knowledge the opportunity, so for every Living Endangered piece sold 5% of the purchase price will go to the Wilderness Foundation.  This way we hope these less significant species may one day attract the attention they deserve.

Living Endangered is a collection of fine lifestyle accessories inspired by smaller, charismatic and lesser-known critically endangered species, many on the fringe of extinction.  How much would it matter, to the seven billion people on earth, whether a little critically endangered frog on Table Mountain survives or not?  We believe it is a matter of esteem.

The range includes fine jewellery, handcrafted leather goods, silk scarves and engaging apparel.  All items are handmade by talented designers and artists.  Treasures of esteem is what we call this lifestyle merchandise which promises to be pleasingly different and distinctly superior.

To help create awareness of their need to survive, five percent of each sale will go towards the Wilderness Foundation, people who focus on the protection of wildlands and oceans where these lesser-known endangered species live.  While ignorance remains the enemy knowledge becomes the new opportunity.

Maybe being on the endangered list beats running with the herd.
