Snow!!
Last weekend on our way to Knysna (5 hours drive from Cape Town), we were presented with the most spectacular views of snow covered mountains - not just wispy, better-look-quick-before-it-melts kind of snow, but the real deal!
Of course we were only seeing it from afar as we were making our way along the N2, but I couldn’t help feeling slightly disappointed that we weren’t heading up there instead - with my skis in the boot of the car instead of our surfboards and running shoes.
I was hoping that on the way home I wouldn’t be taunted with the view of the snowy wonderland, expecting it to all have melted by then, but no it was still there and what made matters worse, I was sent photo’s the following day from people who were actually up there. Jealousy doesn’t even begin to describe how I felt about not being there myself, clipped into my skis with a crazy girl grin on my face.
Snow, a hidden gem because of its infrequency in our sunny and warm South Africa...
